Primary Job Purpose:
The Baker assists and supports the operation of production and packaging for all related products.
Key Accountabilities:
Production
- Responsible for production assuring materials, resourcing and equipment is available and working according to safety, quality and production standards.
- Monitors the Production area to assure equipment, product and operators are working according to quality standards and production schedules.
- Familiar with all the equipment in the wrapping area and makes adjustment when needed.
- Work as required within Production rotating and fulfilling various functions within the team in order to ensure Production is efficient and effective.
- Learn, operate and use appropriately the mixer, divider and pan-o-mat assembly
- Familiar with the functions and operation of the Proofer and oven
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot dough when required for product consistency
Quality
- Completes appropriate quality assurance reports, notifies Leading Hand Supervisor when outside of established range.
- Responsible for the recording of rejects accurately providing reason;
- Follow all work instructions, GMP policies, Safety instructions and policies and HACCP instructions and policies.
- Communicates to the Leading Hand Supervisor on any and all product Quality non-conformance issues.
- Make up and assembly of orders.
Safety and Work Environment
- Maintain appropriate safe work environment at all times
- Keeps wrapping area clean and organized.
- Complete one Safety Walk per week (Ensure your team does the same).
People and Relationships
- Communicates effectively with supervisors and other employees.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent numerical skills with strong mathematical capability and knowledge of metric systems
- Demonstrating leadership qualities and open to development opportunities in supervisory and leadership positions.
- Demonstrate the potential to act as a 2IC when required.
Procedural
- Drive and adhere to all Policies & Procedures located in the IMS, including WHS and Environment.
- Experience, willingness and availability to work in a shift environment;
- A good eye for detail and the ability to work quickly at a constant pace and be part of a team;
- Understands HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, Hygiene, and Quality;
- Good communication and organizational skills along with a work ethic that sees you stand out from the crowd;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to use initiative.
Critical Competencies:

- Level of physical fitness and resilience; able to lift 25 kg.
